What does runcheck actually check?
runcheck reads battery, network, thermal, and storage signals and turns them into one clear view of your phone condition.
What phones and languages does runcheck support?
runcheck is an Android app with min SDK 26 and current Android 17 target behavior. The current product state is English-only.
Does runcheck run in the background?
When monitoring is enabled, Android WorkManager schedules battery-conscious checks, stores local snapshots, and refreshes insights without keeping the app open.
Diagnostics
What is the Health Score based on?
The Health Score combines battery, network, thermal, and storage readings so you can see whether the phone looks Healthy, Fair, Poor, or Critical.
How are the insights different from simple charts?
The Insights Engine looks for relationships across history, such as heat rising with battery drain or network quality dropping at repeat times.
Are speed tests automatic?
No. Full speed tests are user-initiated and use M-Lab NDT7. runcheck can also measure lightweight TCP latency for network health.
Privacy
Why does runcheck ask for permissions?
Each permission maps to a specific feature: network details, optional Wi-Fi SSID and BSSID visibility, notifications, storage analysis, or Pro app usage analysis.
Does runcheck send my diagnostic data somewhere?
runcheck is designed around local diagnostics. Approved outbound surfaces are user-started M-Lab NDT7 tests, TCP latency checks, and Google Play Billing.
